Refining the blue collar look

I was fortunate to play a significant role in aligning the company's fresh illustration direction with the broader scope of its visual identity. Drawing on past collaborative experiences with Danica during our tenure at Yelp, we navigated similar challenges with finesse. Furthermore, during my stint at Jobcase, I contributed to the team by crafting dynamic motion pieces that became integral components of their social media campaigns, particularly for events like Black History Month, Women's History Month, and various others. This dual experience allowed me to seamlessly integrate artistic elements into the company's visual narrative, fostering a cohesive and impactful brand identity.

Jobcase had recently come off of an illustration rebrand, but had some trouble in grounding them in order to use them in other marketing and product places.

Above is an example of what it looked like. The background element was incredible busy and needed to be balanced. The first step to this project was to explore the color relationship with these characters.

Jobcase needed to also create an ongoing demand for new characters based on the established look. For this project I was tasked with coming up with new and Frankensteined illustrations for a span of 13 images to be used as the official art for Jobcase’s groups on their platform.

Simplifying the color palette to 5 and keeping them monochromatic was the first step in refining the illustration.

After many rounds of iterations, we landed on one with monochromatic background and elements that ground the scene. Below are the other group categories for the platform.
