Big Papi Farewell Campaign
Saying goodbye to a legend
As Big Papi's illustrious career reached its conclusion, the Boston Red Sox recognized the importance of bidding him a fitting farewell. The team orchestrated a collective effort by launching a campaign that extended invitations to local artists and designers, tasking them with creating diverse interpretations of the iconic number 34 in honor of Papi. The challenge was to capture the essence of the legend in each rendition. Amidst numerous distinctive aspects to highlight, my focus gravitated towards a feature that, to me, epitomized his persona: his signature sunglasses.

They're loud, bubbly, saturated and distinctive. Additionally, I also wanted to pay homage to Big Papi's home country of Dominican Republic by including it in the background. All 34 graphics were rotated among 34 digital billboards in the Greater Boston Area on Big Papi's farewell weekend, as well as on the Red Sox's Instagram and Facebook page.
